Hiking Sharing Session

So you want to know more about me, eh? then I'll try not to make this too boring! I'm a reserved person naturally, so talking about myself is difficult. . . I'd like to remain somewhat anonymous, just because the state of the internet/social media today is all about being so public about everything and anything (which it seems that many Neocities netizens are also tired of).

Anyways, please call me Teddie, it's nice to meet you! I'm a twenty-something year old gal interested in art, fashion, toy collecting, the color pink, writing, anime, and...the internet! :p But really, I'm a big nerd under the super girly exterior--in the early 1990s, I was introduced to the internet by my dad around the age of 6 (the first thing he helped me look up were My Little Pony fansites) and I was never the same since then...

I loved comics, cartoons, anime, and videogames growing up (and still do today!) and could spend hours looking at fansites. I have vivid memories of the early days of web design, despite being so young...there were so many fantastic websites to look at, about literally everything--I could find a shrine dedicated to my favorite fictional character, learn about the history of unicorns, or read someone's massively elaborate dragon roleplay adventures...all while jamming out to some rad as hell MIDIs. Looking back on it, it seems that people were more honest and passionate about who they were and what they loved. There was something pure about people carefully hand-crafting websites to express something that they cared about. Modern day social media doesn't feel nearly as expressive--everyone is putting on some kind of show for 'likes', it all feels so formulated and fake...Long story short, that's one of the reasons I've come to set up my own camp here on Neocities--I wanted to learn HTML/basic coding, and the nostalgic aesthetic of Neocities sparked the fire to do so, after putting it off for so many years. I still have a lot to learn, but I hope to someday be able to make a cool enough website that would make 9-year-old-me piss myself--!!
